Oyo Students Leadership Crisis Laid To Rest

The leadership tussle between the two “elected executives ” of the national body of the Federation of Oyo State Students Union (FOSSU) for the 2011/ 2012 academic session has been finally settled . The union now has only one executive headed by Ahmad Muili an Adult Education student of the Universitry of Ibadan.

It will be recalled that two separate executives have been flexing muscles over the leadership of the union since October 1st 2011 . The union will now be controlled by Ahmad courtesy of the intervention of the Governor Abiola Ajimobi’s  reconciliatory committee’s final meeting on Tuesday 7th February 2012 which has two members of the state house of assembly Hon Olusegun Olaniyi and Hon Adigun Ahmed , Com Obode Godeons special adviser to governor on youths and students matters, Eng. Ganiyu Fawole special adviser on Millenium Development Goals and the duo of Ahmad Muili and Adedapo Adekunle (the two leaders) in attendance and the spirit of sportsmanship to “let the peace reign” by one of the factional president Adedapo Adekunle.

While speaking with our correspondent shortly after the meeting at the assembly complex , Adekunle said he is leaving the stage for the sake of “peace and tranquility”. He promised to support
the government with all necessary things.

Ahmad who hail his colleague urged other students to cooperate with his government as he used the medium to unveil his plans for the union which include powerful media coverage to redeem the image of the union, championing the payment of bursary and scholarships, career exhibition, workshops and seminars, as well as cultural programs that are aimed to project the image of the students
and the state in general.
