Intern Benefits

As an intern, you will meet new people, work on real projects, and get hands-on experience working in an exciting research area. Approximately 6-8 weeks before your internship begins, one of our Relocation Specialists will contact you by e-mail to provide additional detail on your travel, housing, and transportation options.

    If you plan to fly, we will provide you with an airline ticket via the most direct route to and from your Microsoft location. Upon arrival, we will reimburse you for your taxi fare. If you plan to drive, we will reimburse you per mile for the most direct route to Microsoft.

Background
The Global Environment Facility (GEF) has approved a grant for Nigeria to implement a climate change mitigation project titled “Promoting Energy Efficiency in Residential and Public Sector in Nigeria”. The overall objective of this project is to improve the energy efficiency of a series of end-use equipment (refrigeration appliances, air conditioners, lighting, electric motors and fans, heating appliances etc) used in residential and public buildings (schools, hotels, government offices, etc.) in Nigeria through the introduction of appropriate energy efficiency policies and measures and demand-side management programs. The project will assist the government of Nigeria to put in place comprehensive energy efficiency policy and legislation. It will help to minimize the building of power stations, helping to save money which will be invested in other sectors. This will consequently help in mitigating the emission of Greenhouse gases resulting from generating energy. It will also help to increase Nigerian’s access to electricity.
Summary of Key functions
The Administrative and Finance Assistant will work under the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator and provide assistance to project implementation in the mobilization of inputs, the organization of training activities and financial management and reporting.
Specific Functions
(i)    Prepare all payment requests, financial record-keeping and preparation of financial reports required in line with NEX financial rules and procedures
(ii)   Assist in the recruitment and procurement processes, checking the conformity with UNDP and the Government rules and procedures
(iii)  Assist in the organization of in-country training activities, ensuring logistical arrangements
(iv)   Prepare internal and external travel arrangements for project personnel
(v)    Maintain equipment ledgers and other data base for the project
(vi)   Take record of projects meetings and draft correspondence as required
(vii)  Maintain project filing
(viii) Other duties which may be required
Qualifications
  • At least five years administrative experience,
  • Any relevant University First Degree. Degrees in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting will an added advantage.
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good computer skills, including spread-sheets and database

Duties
Successful candidate will
  • Be part of the medical team which delivers  comprehensive health care services for the Institute’s multicultural staff and their dependants

Qualification

  • Minimum of eight (8) years specialization experience in General Medicine.
  • Knowledge of clinical problems in multicultural community is desirable. Administrative skill added advantage.
  • Candidate must be self motivated, disciplined. and have a pleasant disposition. He/She must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
