Why We Recommend Avoiding WPForms WordPress Plugin

Our experience with WPForms has been extremely disappointing, and we feel it’s important to share the challenges we faced.

We initially purchased WPForms on August 24, 2024 at 2:44am (License Type: WPForms Basic — Basic $49.50) and, due to certain restrictions, upgraded it on January 30, 2025 at 11:31am to (License Type: WPForms Pro — 5 Sites. Purchase Price: $67.83) and eventually upgraded again on March 19, 2025 at 11:08pm to (License Type: Elite. Purchase Price: $43.25 (reg. $599.00/yr) with Invoice #: 2987744. The plugin’s expiration date was set for Aug 26, 2025.

When the subscription eventually expired, a total of 599 USD was automatically charged to our Mastercard. We reached out to WPForms customer support to request a refund. They informed us that, according to their terms and conditions, renewal fees are non-refundable. However, as a one-time exception, they agreed to issue a partial refund—but with a processing fee of 10% to be deducted from it. While we were not happy with this deduction, we had no alternative but to accept.

After the refund was processed, we discovered several major issues:

  • Our access to editing the plugin was immediately restricted.
  • We were unable to add new forms.
  • The plugin sent an email to our registered address stating it had expired.
  • The plugin showed on the websites that it’s expired so renew
  • Worst of all, we could not even install the last version we purchased on new websites.

In effect, WPForms took away access to a product we had fully paid for, including the processing fee they charged. This made the plugin completely unusable for our business, leaving us and our clients unable to use it and forcing us to scramble to find a replacement.

Based on our experience, we strongly recommend that you avoid WPForms WordPress Plugin to prevent similar frustrations.
